ready

Here is the new collaboration from the guitarists of Teddy Trouble and Emerald Cities called Readymen. With subtle hints of dark folk and early 60s pop, the two have woven their styles into something both warm and unsettling. The dueling guitars and chilling chorus make this one of the more interesting things to come from Canberra in a while. Plan on seeing more of these guys as I hear they are working on a live show and will be playing soon.

city-life

Emerald Cities is the side project of Carey “Catfish” Paterson who also plays guitar in The Fighting League. Their first demo “Saintly Kind” has a quality that’s reminiscent of some of the great 80s American indie bands. I think they’ll be putting a split out sometime next year so keep an eye out.
