Assassins 88-Beach People EP digital release coming soon

Dream Damage Records is psyched to announce the release of Assassins 88 & TV Colours Split 7″ (now available to order online). Assassins have swapped the bass for guitar, with less noise and more melody. Both tracks were recorded in a shed last summer, with Mike from Teddy Trouble. A new EP will be available for download in February. TV Colours is the one man recording project from home town hero Bobby Kill. His side is some of the catchiest punks anthems out with The Kids Are All Grown Up named top song of 2010 by Polaroids of Androids. TV Colours is gearing up for the release of his debut LP out later in the year.

Over the past few months Assassins and TV Colours have been playing live as a three piece, playing each others songs and generally kicking ass. You can catch them up in Brisbane this weekend and in Sydney, Melbourne (Feb 5th show moved to march – more details soon) and Canberra over the coming months. Following the hugely successful Dead Shits Festival, DEADSHITS 2 is on again. Its happening this Friday in Brisbane, and is shaping up to be one hell of a party. Be sure to check out Assassins 88 and TV Colours who are making the trip up with their newly released 7″ in hand. Hosted by the amazing team at Bedroom Suck Records and The Outpost.

Danger Beach is the alter ego of Lachlan Thomas (one half of ASSASSINS 88). His debut effort, Milky Way, was entirely self produced at home in his bedroom. It’s a dreamy throwback to old guitar pop and spaghetti western soundtracks, with guest appearances by Jonny Telafone and TV Colours.

This weekend Assassins 88 and Fighting League are heading up the coast to play shows in Newcastle and Sydney. Friday night they’re in Newcastle at The Croatian Club playing with Honest Thieves and Stitched Vision. On Saturday they’re at Black Wire Records with Bitch Prefect and Bed Wettin Bad Boys. Also, ASS ASS INS bassist Lachlan will be on FBI Radio Thursday night promoting his new Danger Beach album (there will be copies available at shows). Come and party!

After touring the east coast for the last month (to support their new 7″ now out on R.I.P Society) and playing alongside bands Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Royal Headache and Bed Wettin Bad Boys. Brisbane’s Kitchen’s Floor, are finally coming down to Canberra tonight to play their unique brand of angst ridden noisy pop at the Phoenix Bar. Alongside them will be Alps of NSW who recently got back from touring the US, and locals Assassins 88 and The Fighting League. Sunday Phoenix shows are continuing to secure some amazing acts, with both Thee Oh Sees and Straight Arrows blowing everyone away on previous occasions (and word has just got to me that Scull Hazzards are coming next month!!!).
