Killing-Birds

Killing Birds are a guitar & drums two piece who formed somewhere in Canberra earlier this year. They finished their first EP Her Joy last week without even having played a show yet (at least I think they haven’t). No doubt they are big Nirvana fans with the EP sometimes sounding like the lost B-Sides to Nevermind. Regardless of that, these guys have written some great songs. The eight track release will be out sometime next month, I’ve only posted the first track Plume, if you want a copy get in contact with them at their Myspace or keep your eyes out for them live, apparently they’re tight as fuck.

Hoodlum Shouts »

Hoodlums

“Enter Hoodlum Shouts who defy cyclical trends with their debut EP Horses and Human Hands. With what we believe is a contribution, rather than trend, to the affectionately nicknamed era I call ‘Australian-post-colonial-punk’. This release would have recognisable past and present bands like The Birthday Party, The Stabs, The Triffids, (early) Hunters & Collectors, Midnight Oil and The Drones (if the majority of these bands had died in their primes) turning excitedly in their graves.” (Birds Love Fighting)

Check out the track History’s End from the Horses and Humans Hands EP, which you can pick up from Landspeed Records in Canberra or from Missing Link in Melbourne.

False-Jesii

After dropping the melancholy weight of his first release, Lets Hear It For Love grew on me pretty fast. Its a different feel, but I dig it.

Cat Cat »

Cat-Cat-Canberra-Australia

Cat Cat formed in mid 2008 and are Conor, Kieren, Goo and Warwick. This combination of members and style allows the band to stay on a steady road of up beat 60′s psych tunes to 80′s cruising tempo’s.

Their impressive debut release ‘Dig Mountains‘ is a sharp motorik kraut rock and cruising psychedelic trip. The Cat Cat EP is now, courtesy of Birds Love Fighting Records, available to purchase as a high quality digital download through the Dream Damage store
