Killing Birds have lost their drummer James, and have reformed with a new drummer and an extra guitarist. Meanwhile JW Sparrow & the Miner Birds has since changed his name to Orbits. Which indicates an appropriate direction for his improvising psych-lo-sci-fi style. But don’t let change get to you, there is plenty of action on the tape. This is the debut solo release for Warwick JW Smith, founder of Birds Love Fighting Records, and familiar face in bands such as Mankilled, The Gashes and now bassist for Cat Cat. This new hand painted EP is now available to buy through our friends Birds Love Fighting Records, but if you don’t manage that they have kindly put it up for free download!!

The release is an example of loose, discord and atmospheric guitar, droning organ creating improvised pop songs that dives into, without sounding like a downer, situations that are under the influence of emotion. With having all that said, there is a diversion in track 6, with an improvised epic power jam with drummer Leon Twardy. Don’t let it get you down! the last song Wasted, is a nice track of solidarity to those of us who have literally stumbled into bed and woken up the next day feeling wasted.
